High performance
The Dual Serial I/O's 16550 UARTs give your serial peripherals optimum performance under Microsoft Windows 95, NT V4.0 and MS-DOS. Built-in buffers support a continuous data stream from high speed peripheralssuch as digital cameras or fast modems.

Simultaneous operation
The Dual I/O features simultaneous and independent operation of both serial ports. Separate cables allow the flexibility to use only one port without a dangling cable on the other or to mix custom andstandard cables.

Low power
Socket's High-Integration Serial (HIS) chip reduces chip count to improve reliability and reduce power consumption. The Dual Serial I/O Card uses only 5 mA in standby mode compared to over 50 mA for otherserial PC Cards. That extends the battery life of your mobile computer in situations where it's impractical to use an AC power adapter.

Windows 95, NT 4.0 and MS-DOS Compatible
The Dual Serial I/O Card works out of the box with Windows 95 or Windows NT 4.0 platforms. Socket also provides a PC Card direct enabler for MS-DOS and offers sample device drivers to developers and OEMsinterested in using the Dual Serial I/O Card with other operating systems.
