This wireless terminal server makes it easy to connect any serial device to 802.11b wireless Ethernet. It combines inherent data networking with proven asynchronous connectivity to deliver powerful yet simple wireless network connectivity for your EIA-RS-232/ 422/485 serial devices.

This unit offers universal, high-performance serial to wireless connectivity and is ideal for applications requiring COM ports, serial tunneling, or where TCP socket, UDP socket, or UDP multi-cast functionality is needed. RealPort technology makes it possible to establish a connection between the host and networked serial devices by creating a local COM or TTY port on the host computer, allowing software applications to work with networked device servers replacing the requirement for integrated serial host adapter cards.

The Digi TS W also delivers powerful features such as data security via SSH v2, and Wired Equivalent-Privacy (WEP) supporting 64-bit and 128-bit encryption. Management is easy with read/write SNMP support for all configuration parameters plus full serial, Ethernet and wireless MIBS.

Easy to install with an auto-run wizard for UNIX and Microsoft. IP address assignment is simple with the support for ADDP, RARP, and DHCP and statically through a serial port. The included Quick Start Guide graphically displays the easy and hassle-free configuration.
