APC's new 1400VA and 3000VA Redundant Switch accessories offer network managers 7x24 AC power and continuous availability of safe server shutdown to protect Windows NT/2000, NetWare, Solaris-based servers. Redundant Switch has two input plugs. It is designed to supply power to the load from a primary AC line. If that AC power was not available due to an overloaded circuit, failed UPS, extreme weather, or even user error, the Redundant Switch will automatically begin sourcing power from the secondary AC line. The transfer from one line to the other is seemless to your server or networking device.
