The CCM-1600 is a 16-slot modular, 19 inch rackmountable, multimedia converter chassis. The CCM-1600 modules offer 100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX conversion, as well as, a variety of 10BASE-x media combinations. Reliability is insured by adding an optional, redundant, hot swappable power supply. With a slim, low profile chassis and a mix of 10Mbps, 100Mbps and Gigabit media conversion, the CCM-1600 becomes the perfect solution for connecting today’s evolving networks.

Canary not only provides a solution for your conversion needs, but also facilitates the smooth transition from 10Mbps legacy networks to the increased speeds of 100Mbps Fast Ethernet. With sixteen modular cards and two modular power supplies, the user can cleanly and easily connect legacy LANs or Fast Ethernet segments to switches or routers. All CCM cards and power supplies are hot-swappable eliminating costly network down time.

Designed for cost effective network versatility, the CCM-1600 100BASE-FX to 100BASE-FX cards (sold separately) enable the user to transparently link stations using alternate protocols. Pairs of ATM devices, FDDI devices or Token Ring devices may be linked at up to OC-3 speeds! The benefits of reduced congestion and faster, more enhanced data throughput will be immediate.

Link Fault Signaling gives the host (router, server, switch), attached to each end of the converter, critical information about the status of the other (remote) segment link. If either link fails the converter interacts with both hosts, making each instantly aware of the link fault. Either host can then execute preprogrammed, redundant transmission path selection. Link Fault Signaling is available on all 100Mbps converters.
